Tianjin, China, October 21, 2013 - DMG MORI CO., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “DMG MORI SEIKI”) is pleased to announce the grand opening of its new manufacturing plant in Tianjin, China.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday, October 18 with the attendance of Mr. Wang Liming, Vice President of China Machine Tool & Tool Builders’ Association; Mr. XU Hongxing, Director of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA); Mr. Zhong Sizhao, Operation Director of Danfoss (Tianjin) Limited; Dr. Rüdiger Kapitza, CEO of DMG MORI Aktiengesellschaft; and Dr. Masahiko Mori, President of DMG MORI CO., LTD.
At the ceremony, President Mori said “We were able to hire young, talented people thanks to the cooperation of the local government. In this excellent working environment we will work on human resource development. The demand for machine tools that achieve higher levels of precision has been growing here in China. We will provide the best value for our Chinese customers through DMG MORI SEIKI’s Japan-Germany-China network.”
The Tianjin Plant is the company’s second overseas manufacturing facility, following the North American Plant which started operation in 2012. The Tianjin Plant not only focuses on producing horizontal machining centers for Chinese customers, but also acts as a manufacturing base for casting parts that will be supplied to other plants in Japan and the U.S.A.
The addition of the Tianjin Plant will help strengthen DMG MORI SEIKI’s global production network that spans Europe, North America, Japan and China. By taking advantage of this production network, DMG MORI will work on reducing logistics costs and delivery time in order to provide customers with even better products and services.
