CELOS – From idea to finished product

CELOS from DMG MORI simplifies and accelerates the process from idea to the finished product. CELOS APPs enable integrated management, documentation and visualisation of job, process and machine data. CELOS is compatible with PPS- and ERP-Systems, can be linked to CAD/CAM software and is open to future CELOS APP expansion.


At EMO, there will be 12 CELOS APPs available. For example, CELOS apps such as the "JOB MANAGER" or "JOB ASSISTANCE" support the user with the network-integrated planning, management preparation and systematic processing of jobs (with workpiece, equipment and NC programme).

NLX - Three world premieres complement the successful machine series

Three world firsts in the new DMG MORI design complement the successful NLX series at the EMO exhibition. Since its introduction to the market in 2010, DMG MORI has already sold more than 2,500 units. The NLX series offers users maximum performance, flexibility and reliability. The cooling system integrated in the machine bed further boosts its thermal properties. The slideways in all axes are the perfect basis for high-performance turning applications.

The NLX2500/500, developed for short workpieces of up to 500 mm in length, excels due to its small footprint and high rigidity. The new NLX3000MC/1250 offers turning lengths of up to 1,250 mm with BMT technology with the drive motor in the turret for outstanding milling performance. Moreover, highlights of the NLX4000BY/1500 model include the generous X-travel of 1,500 mm and a steady rest for diameters of up to 310 mm. Additionally, the version with integrated Y-axis allows for the machining of parts with diameters of up to 500 mm. Combined with driven tools with rpms of up to 10,000 min-1, there is enormous potential for complete machining in one setup. The NLX4000BY/1500 compact and needs little floorspace in relation to the the workpiece size.

All NLX world premieres will be presented at EMO with CELOS with 21,5“ ERGOline® and MITSUBISHI and are available from April 2014.

World premiere: CTX beta 2000 TC

Turn & Mill complete machining with the biggest Y-stroke of 300 mm in its class

The new CTX beta 2000 TC is a convincing addition to the successful CTx TC series and offers an affordable entry into turn-mill complete machining of workpieces with turning lengths of up to 2000 mm. Among other things, the world premiere convinces with a large work envelope for workpieces up to Ø550 x 2,050 mm, the biggest Y-stroke in its class and the possibility to use a steady rest for workpieces up to Ø350 mm.

For demanding complete machining applications, the machine offers main and counter spindles with a torque of up to 770 Nm. Furthermore, the powerful turn-mill spindle with speeds of up to 18.000 min-1 offers the machining of complex workpieces and 5-axis simultaneous machining. The high flexibility is underscored by the tool magazines' capacity of up to 100 pockets and the option to use tools with lengths of up to 700 mm.

With Z-travels of 2,050 mm and a turning diameter of 550 mm, the CTX beta 2000 TC is positioned between the smaller CTX beta 1250 TC and the large CTX gamma 2000 TC and perfectly complements the turn-mill machining centre series.

Exclusive Technology-Cycles for easy shopfloor programming completes the CTX beta 2000 TC's huge range of possible applications. Time savings of up to 60% can be achieved. Excentric turning and milling functions or special threads, generated y the multi-thread cycle, can be generated without CAD/CAM systems.

World premiere: CTV 315 linear

Vertical turning of large workpieces of up to 300 mm in length weighing 25 kg

At EMO, DMG MORI presents the new CTV 315 linear, introducing the second generation of its CTV series. The CTV 315 linear can machine workpieces with diameters of up to 300 mm, 210 mm in height, weighing 25 kg.

The generous work envelope offers enough space for the VDI 40 turret with 12 tool stations and additional tools or a milling spindle, which can be mounted on an optional function plate. The turret is also available as a DirectDrive VDI 50 version with driven tools and rpms of up to 10,000 min-1. The STEALTH design, which has been optimised for production environments, offers operators easy access to the work area and automation equipment due to its small footprint and the integrated15'' SLIMline® Panel.

In combination with the (optional) Y-travel and big Z-stroke, workpieces with diameters of 20 to 300 mm can be precisely machined in a fast and dynamic way. Linear drives in the X-axis contribute to the machine's accuracy and dynamics, reducing non-productive time’s trough accelerations of 8 m/s² and long-term accuracy. DMG MORI SEIKI's linear drives have a warranty of 60 months.

Up to three turrets with three Y-axes and unique B-axis and Direct Drive

The SPRINT 65 complements the successful SPRINT series. The SPRINT 65 on display at the EMO exhibition in Hannover this year is equipped with three turrets, while the bottom turret is provided with a B-axis - unrivalled for automatic turning machines. The generously dimensioned -23.5 ° to +158.5 ° swivel range of the B-axis also makes working at a negative angle possible, even with standard tools.

Alternatively, the SPRINT 65 can also be equipped with three turrets without B-axis. The affordable entry-level version with two turrets also comes with the patented and 1000-times proven TWIN concept. The unique work area concept with two turrets and the cross traversable counter-spindle / tailstock combination allows parallel machining in two independent work areas.

The standard TRIFIX® precision quick change interface ensures setup times of less than 30 seconds and a repeatability of < 6 µm. The general field of action of the SPRINT 60 is complete machining of bar material up to 90 mm (65 mm standard) in diameter with a speed of 5,000 rpm on the main and 7,000 rpm at the counter spindle.

The new vertical machining centre with a unique machine concept for more power and flexibility

The third generation vertical machining centre series model DMC 650 V presents itself in the new design and with CELOS from DMG MORI SEIKI, combining the experience of more than 10,000 successful installations.

The DMC 650 V standard version is equipped with a 14,000 rpm spindle and 121 Nm of torque, rapid traverse rates of up to 36 m/min and is designed to machine workpieces weighing up to 800 kg. As an option, the machine's capacity can be expanded for performance milling with a 303 Nm torque spindle (SK 50). Tool magazines with up to 120 stations are available. High precision is guaranteed trough cooling of the drives and guideways.

The new DMC 650 V is available from April 2014 with CELOS and 21.5“ ERGOline® and Siemens. From November 2013 this machine is already available with Operate 4.5 on SIEMENS 840D solutionline or HEIDENHAIN TNC 640.

More precision and surface finish for tool and mould making applications

Both EMO world premieres, the HSC30 linear and HSC 70 linear, will be setting new standards in precision and surface finish for tool and mould making applications. DMG MORI is continuing the 20-year long history, leading HSC technology into new dimensions: With its beginnings in 1993 with the DMC 70 V, over the first use of linear drives in the HSC 75 linear ten years ago, to the EMO world premieres with CELOS from DMG MORI and in the new, common design today.

Outstanding features are the consistently long-term precision down to 5 µm due to the innovative cooling concept and the thermo-symmetrical portal design which enables surface qualities of Ra < 0.15  thanks to HSC-spindles with shaft, flange and sleeve cooling. Moreover, the machines offer the known advantages of linear drives in all axes for high dynamics and 60 months warranty. The finishing touches of the performance are specific control cycles designed for HSC technology.

The new HSC linear machines are available from April 2014 with CELOS and 21.5“ ERGOline® and Siemens. From November 2013 this machine is already available with Operate 4.5 on SIEMENS 840D solutionline or HEIDENHAIN TNC 640.

The fourth-generation duoBLOCK® for 30% increased performance, precision and efficiency

The fourth-generation DMU 80 P duoBLOCK® from DMG MORI  appears in the new uniform design and offers high-level 5-axis machining with unique performance features. Extensive cooling measures ensure 30% increased accuracy and highest long-term precision with a positioning accuracy of up to 5 µm. Another highlight is the powerMASTER 1000-motor spindle with 1,000 Nm and 77 kW.

The machine's rigidity has been improved by 30%, providing maximum machining power. The new wheel magazine, with space for up to 363 tools, shortest tool change over times of 0.5 seconds as well as the possibility to setup during machining, means highest flexibility and productivity. Moreover, the new B-axis with a 250° swivel angle and integrated Kabelschlepp offers flexible and fast machining. Intelligent on-demand aggregates which reduce energy consumption by up to 30% round off the DMU 80 P duoBLOCK®'s impressive list of features.

Complete machining mill-turn with threefold pallet changer for maximum productivity

DMG MORI SEIKI's DMC 85 FD monoBLOCK® complements the successful series of universal monoBLOCK®-machines. With 5-axis simultaneous machining, pallet changer and mill-turn technology, the DMC 85 FD monoBLOCK® is one of the most versatile machining centres. The compact machine has a footprint of only 22 m². Workpieces of up to 600 mm in height, a diameter of 800 mm and weighing up to 800 kg can be processed. The DMC 85 FD monoBLOCK® features a standard 18,000 rpm spindle. The FD swivel round table offers rpms of up to 800 min-1 for demanding turning operations, as well as a swivel range of +/- 120° for complex milling tasks.

Similar to other models, the DMC 85 FD monoBLOCK®'s work area and pallet changer are easily accessible. The doors can be opened wide enough for crane loading.

Precision machining up to 12 t with a threefold improvement in volumetric accuracy

The high-end precision machine DIXI 270 from DMG MORI features a work area of 2,700 x 2,700 x 1,600 mm (X x Y x Z) and achieves a threefold improvement in volumetric accuracy of < 60 μm. The extremely precise gantry machine with its 3-point support and parts cast in GGG60 guarantees rigidity and stability for the machining of complex parts such as large aerospace components or precision moulds.

The DIXI 270 can handle enormous, heavy components with diameters up to 3,000 mm, heights of 1,6000 mm and weighing a maximum of 12,000 kg in just one setup, including efficient rough machining (with powerful spindle torques of up to 1,000 Nm and 77 kW with the powerMASTER 1000 motor spindle) plus final finishing with top dynamics (5 m/s2), fast feed rates (60 m/min) and a volumetric accuracy which has been improved three times.

The  DIXI 270 mainly owes its high degree of flexibility to its ingenious design, its high-performance spindles, and the trade skills of the DIXI staff. The expert workforce at DIXI spend more than 500 hours scraping the precision-relevant contact surfaces until they are so flat, straight and square that only minimum shape and position tolerances are possible during the high-precision interaction of all linear and rotary axes.

Dynamic travelling column milling centre with linear drives and 6-m X-travel for workpieces up to 10 t

The DMF 600 linear extends DMG MORI SEIKI's range of travelling column machining centres with a model boasting travels of 6,000 mm x 1,100 mm x 900 mm, suitable for workpieces up to 10 t, which makes the DMF 600 linear ideal for customers in the aerospace industry, looking for efficient machining solutions.

One of the machine's characteristic features include the linear drive in the X-axis for high accuracy, fast rapid traverse of 80 m/min and short non-productive times during tool changes. Feed rates of the Y- and Z-axis are 60 m/min.

The DMF 600 linear offers spindle speeds of 8,000 rpm as standard. Optionally, spindles with 18,000 rpm are available, as well as a 10,000 rpm spindle with 413 Nm, SK50 and HSK-A100 interface respectively with enough power to manage heavy machining tasks.

Furthermore, two NC round tables for 5-axis pendulum machining or two mill-turn-tables for demanding mill-turn operations in two separate work areas can optionally be integrated into the machine. The machine bed is cast from HPC, and the travelling column's thermo-symmetric design ensures high rigidity and long-term stability.

Compact horizontal machining centre for the serial production of engine components

With the i80L DMG MORI presents an ultra-compact horizontal machining centre for efficient mass production of engine components in the automotive industry. The machine owes its compact design to the tool magazine located on top of the machine.

In its basic configuration, the machine is not available with a pallet changer. Instead, the machine is open to custom automation systems such as gantry robots or transfer systems. Moreover, the machine is ideal to be integrated into production lines together with other machines and machining units, e.g. for cylinder head or engine block production lines.

Another outstanding feature is the option of parallel machining of two workpieces in the machine's work area. This reduces the number of machines and consequently minimises investments.

Moreover, the work table can be moved in the Z-axis, facilitating manual access to the work area. The low overall height is again ideal for automation purposes as it reduces load/unload times.

 

The compact horizontal machining centre i80L from DMG MORI is designed for manufacturers of cylinder heads and crankcases in the automotive industry.

High contour accuracy as well as surface finishes of Ra < 0,1 μm in Advanced Materials

The ULTRASONIC 30 linear is DMG MORI SEIKI's new precision machine for Advanced Materials, which will be presented for the first time at this year's EMO. The gantry-type machine features a long-term stable design and a dual drive in the Y-axis for highest precision and perfect surface finishes.

The ultrasonic technology enables hard machining with minimum machining forces, resulting in surface finishes of Ra < 0.1 μm - even for complex 5-axis workpieces. Highly dynamic linear drives in the X, Y and Z-axis contribute to these capabilities, featuring accelerations of up to 1.2 g and 50 m/min rapid traverse, as well as a turn/swivel table with a diameter of 250 mm and the optimum swivel range of the B-axis of +/–120°.

Another decisive quality feature is the ULTRASONIC 30 linear's comprehensive temperature management with the integrated cooling system in the machine bed, drives and guides, the control cabinet as well as all mediums with constant temperature control. This makes the precision machine a first choice for the most demanding machining tasks, e.g. for the optical, medical, watch or precision mould making industries.

The new compact machines for chuck sizes of

250 mm and 400 mm with 3D control technology

The two world premieres CTX 450 ecoline and CTX 65 ecoline continue what ECOLINE has been standing for many years now: cutting-edge technology with proven components at the best price. In relation to the compact footprint of 4.9 m² and 9.8 m² respectively, the work area offers maximum space to machine complex and large workpieces.

Some of the technological highlights include the highly dynamic servo-turret with optionally up to 12 driven tool stations and short cycle times, spindles with up to 75 mm and 110 mm bar capacity, as well as wide guideways and linear guides for high rigidity and positioning accuracy.

The choice of 3D controls is unique in this segment: SLIMline® with Operate 4.5 on SIEMENS 840D solutionline, HEIDENHAIN CNC PILOT 640 or with MAPPS IV on MITSUBISHI. A huge range of optional features such as the direct measuring system are also available for the new universal turning machines. Unique high-tech features for entry-level tool presetters

 

With its UNO 20 | 40 DMG  MORI SEIKI introduces an affordable entry into external tool presetting, boasting an impressive range of technological features combined with optimum ergonomics, which will impress price-conscious customers. The tool presetter is offered with X / Z travels of 200 / 400 mm.

The UNO 20 | 40 comes with integrated fine adjustment as standard. The clear 19'' display ensures user-friendly operation. A 21'' touch screen is available as an option. The latest generation MICROVISION 5th generation software offers simple, intuitive operation and many useful functions ensure fast and accurate presetting.
