DMG MORI will be presenting four world premieres plus CELOS® with 4 new CELOS® APPs and a PC version of CELOS® for the first time at the Jubilee Open House in Pfronten.
In its 20-year history the Open House at DECKEL MAHO in Pfronten has developed from a regional exhibition to become established as one of the most important events in the branch. When DMG MORI opens the doors of its plant in Pfronten from 3rd to 7th February there will be a total of 72 high-tech machines awaiting the numerous visitors from the branch, on show in an exhibition area of 5,800 m² – these will include the four world premieres: the CTX beta 1250 TC , the 4th generation of the DMU 100 P duoBLOCK® and the DMC 125 FD duoBLOCK® as well as the DMC 270 U. Thematic highlights of the Open House also include CELOS® for the fastest and most intelligent way from the idea to the finished product plus various high-tech automation solutions from DMG MORI Systems focussing on holistic system technology for large serial production.
CELOS® with a PC version and 4 new CELOS® APPs – simplifies machine operation and holistic integration in the plant organisation
CELOS® offers a uniform user interface for all new DMG MORI high-tech machines. On a unique 21.5” multi-touch screen CELOS® APPs enable consistent management, documentation and visualisation of job, process and machine data. It also simplifies, standardises and automates operation of the machine. The latest CELOS® version now comprising 16 APPs will be ready for delivery as of April 2015. It includes four new APPs that will be presented for the first time at the Open House from DECKEL MAHO in Pfronten. The PC version of CELOS® is also new. With this you can plan and control your production and manufacturing process optimally directly during production planning.
CELOS® connects the machine with higher-level company structures in a unique way thus creating the basis for integral digitalised and paperless production. 30 % faster to the product with CELOS® due to direct coupling of ERP / PPS and PDM. DMG MORI sets new standards with CELOS® - its response to Industry 4.0.
Another highlight of the Open House in Pfronten is the new CELOS® version for PCs. All you have to do is install the CELOS® software on your PC and you have all CELOS® functions available immediately. With the new CELOS® PC version you can plan and control your production and manufacturing process optimally directly during production planning. You create your jobs with the JOB MANAGER APP and then assign these to your machines with the JOB SCHEDULER APP. With the MESSENGER APP you always have an up-to-date live overview of all machines and know exactly what is happening in production at all times.
The PC version of CELOS® offers you the possibility of integrating any machines or equipment in an integral CELOS® periphery. Simply make your CELOS® PC version available in the vicinity of the machines and call up the job data of the respective machines in your production from there.
With the PC version of CELOS® you merge planning with production. This means you already have the answer to the requirements of the future Industry 4.0 project at your fingertips today.
CTX beta 1250 TC – Turn & Mill complete machining with the new compactMASTER® turn-mill spindle for a 170 mm larger work area
Following the success of the CTX beta 800 TC the new CTX beta 1250 TC now expands the 2nd generation series of the Turn & Mill machining centres. The CTX beta 1250 TC is designed for universal use in the complete machining of workpieces with a diameter of up to 500 mm and a 1,210 mm turning length. Even in the standard version the up to 65 % increase in feed speeds (max. 50 m/min) and direct measuring systems from MAGNESCALE ensure more dynamics and accuracy. In addition the automatic tool changer with up to 80 tools offers the customer maximum flexibility where classic turning operations are concerned.
A core element of the new CTX beta 1250 TC is the DirectDrive B-axis with its stepless swivel range of ±120° and which is equipped with the new compactMASTER® turn-mill spindle. The compact design of the spindle enables a torque of 120 Nm with a length of just 350 mm. Compared to conventional spindles this adds up to a gain in working area space of 170 mm with a simultaneous 20 percent higher torque. And what is more, it enables considerable savings in tool costs, because standard tools can be used for slanted surfaces and boreholes.

4th generation DMU 100 P and DMC 125 FD duoBLOCK® – 5-axis machining for highest demands on precision, performance and efficiency
After the epoch-making success of the 4th generation duoBLOCK® machines presented recently, there will be not one but two new versions of the series being demonstrated live in operation at the Open House in Pfronten. The DMU 100 P duoBLOCK® is characterised by outstanding milling performance and is convincing both in high-performance heavy-duty machining as well as in the accurate all-round sector. The high level of rigidity of the construction ensures up to 30 percent improved accuracy values that are further promoted by intelligent temperature management among other things.

The new pallet version of the DMC 125 FD duoBLOCK® also benefits from the optimised overall rigidity. This innovation is equipped with an automatic pallet changer that enables set-up parallel to production time. This reduces idle times resulting in sustainable optimisation of the production process. In addition the DMC 125 FD duoBLOCK® offers a fast rotary table for complete milling-turning machining of complex geometries with diameters of up to 1,250 mm and heights of 1,600 mm. Another important point that needs mentioning, as of the Open House at Pfronten, the best-performer DMC 125 U duoBLOCK® will also be available in the milling sector in addition to the already mentioned FD version, thus adding another chapter to the success story of this construction.
DMC 125 FD duoBLOCK®
A fundamental benefit of the duoBLOCK® principle are the extensive building blocks for customised complete solutions in a wide range of applications. The range of spindles, for example, encompasses versions ideally suited for heavy-duty machining – these include the powerMASTER® 1000 with its 1,000 Nm torque and 9,000 rpm or the gearbox spindle with 1,300 Nm and 8,000 rpm that will be available as of quarter 04/2015.

DMC 270 U – High ±12 μm level of accuracy thanks to intelligent temperature management for workpieces weighing up to 9 t
The 5-axis machine with its highly stable gantry design enables maximum precision while at the same time guaranteeing top dynamics. A fast, space-saving pallet changer plus the high degree of flexibility of the basic machine are the basis for efficient production. Pallet loads of up to 9 t, set-up parallel to production time, extensive automation options and best accessibility to the work area, set-up area and maintenance equipment are additional factors for ensuring efficient operation in production.
The machine’s extremely high level of inherent rigidity and its constant overall temperature control guarantee top values where accuracy is concerned.
